in with the newspaper being liberal and for ‘progressives’.)

Uses
full colour photography, which brings variety and visual interest. Most images
are of politicians, celebrities and ordinary people. Some are close ups, most
are mid or long shots to connote a news orientation.
Use of Language:
Headlines
are written in a journalistic style (newsy), but are formal. Skyboxes
informal tone, more personal and helpful.
Values: Liberal
values: tolerance, fairness and progress through media language, which makes it
mainstream.

Typography àMasthead is bold and serif font(blocked and elegant) reflective of style and tone of newspaper/target audience(ABC1).Skybox is bold to attract the readers into the stories. Convention of small font size is conventional to newspapers.

One story from the contemporary covers that reflect Britain as a multicultural society is the story of Harry and Megan getting married,they are both different ethnicities- Harry is British and Megan is American. The colours used of black and white reflect the Scott trust values of racial equality as not only one colour is present. Black football player-reflect equality of ethnicity (show both black and white people)

story and one journalist from the contemporary covers that reflects a feminist
society.
The story on the 21st Jan newspaper reflects a feminist society as the story is alongside a picture of a dominant female. The story is about the 'me too' campaign to stand up for women rights (reflects feminist society as women are being dominant) published by a female journalist.

element from the contemporary covers that reflects a consumerism society.
One element from the contemporary covers that reflects a consumerism society is the subtle 'summer shot special' sibilance which reflect the consumerism society as they are trying to promote food. Nigella magazine - recipes are given to readers (consumerism)
