The Guardian is editorially independent, meaning we set our own agenda. Our journalism is free from commercial bias and not influenced by billionaire owners, politicians or shareholders. 

How has the paper responded to declining newspaper sales?
-The decline of newspapers has been widely debated, as the industry has faced slumping ad sales, the loss of much classified advertising and precipitous drops in circulation. 
-The guardian: the editorial staffs are too small 
-There is too much to read, which puts off readers. Print can't compete with 24-hour news on television and radio.
-Social media has been made for the newspaper (convergence)
What might be effects of the ownership on the paper's content? 
} story that reflects ethos 
-Ownership of scott trust (paper reflects fair beliefs, liberal)
